The State Auditor General, Alhaji Yakubu Okala gave the commendation while declaring toady in Lokoja, a 2 day Capacity Development Training organized by his office preparatory for the commencement of this year's field audit of all the Public Offices of the State.

He explained that the far reaching decision taken by his Principal, Governor Yahaya Bello for assenting into Law the New Audit Law, attested to his passion for deepening Transparency, Accountability and good governance in the State by guaranteed Auditors Independent.

Alhaji Okala also praised the Governor for the released of fund for the renovation of Auditor General Office asserting that the face lift provided no doubt serve as a bait for staff to be dutiful, and promote productivities

The State Auditor General disclosed that the new Audit Law provide for Audit Service Board, of which the Secretary shall be of equal status of permanent Secretary to be appointed from among the ranking Auditors serving in the Office of the State Auditor General

Alhaji Yakubu Okala admonished Auditors to see themselves as agent of reformation and transformation because their investigations and reports to Government is a pathway to good governance, effectiveness, efficiency in service delivery by Public Offices and help to minimize pervasive corruption and wastages in the system.

He acknowledged the valuable inputs they made in the last year's audit exercise and the enormous success attained and urged them to redouble efforts to allow this year Audit exercise to record more feats to justify Governor Yahaya Bello administration's huge investment on them.
